2008 09 21 -- Settling in to the new house!

In April of 2008 we moved to a much larger house, one with a walk-out basement. This was mainly for the benefit of the PDP-12 (well, ok, my wife and I liked the house too :-)). Today I was able to use my shiny new winch that I bought off eBay for $80 + S/H.

Here's the winch in action picking up the TU56 tape drive and allowing me to safely and easily place it into the top position of the cabinet.

2009 05 21 -- PDP-8/E Front Panel Replica

When we moved in last year, it turns out the movers dropped one of the 8/Es!

As you can see, the front panel was quite damaged. However, working with a local tradeshow exhibits shop, we were able to come up with a replacement panel. This panel is currently in the "prototype" stage, in that the light holes for the indicator lamps might need to be worked on a little bit. It would be really nice to find the same font as was used by DEC, but I don't hold out much hope.
